Thivya Lachamanan graduated from University of London (External) programme in 2014 and obtained her Certificate in Legal Practice the following year. She began her pupillage in Messrs Shukor Baljit & Partners under the guidance of Datuk Baljit Singh Sidhu. She was admitted as an Advocate and Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya in October 2015. She joined Messrs Azim, Tunku Farik & Wong as an Advocate and Solicitor in October 2015 and practiced with the firm until June 2016 in the Motor Insurance Litigation department. She then practiced briefly in Messrs. SN Fam & Co. in the area of Insurance Litigation before rejoining our firm in June 2017. Her current area of practice is Insurance Litigation.
Umesh Skanthan s/o Vijaya Kumar graduated with LLB (Honours) from the University of London (external) in 2014 and obtained his Certificate in Legal Practice in 2016. He began his attachment in our firm under the guidance of our Mr. Anantharajah Shanmugan whilst pursuing his Certificate in Legal Practice. Upon completion of the same, he read in the chambers of our Mr. Balakumar. He was admitted as an Advocate and Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya in November 2017. He has since been retained in our firm and practices in the Insurance Litigation Department.
Nishantini Devi Phillip graduated from University of London (External) programme in 2014 and obtained her Certificate in Legal Practice the following year. She then commenced her pupillage and read in the Chambers of our Anantharajah Shanmugam. On 4th September 2015 she was admitted and enrolled as an Advocate and Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya. She was retained as an Associate and her current area of practice is Motor Claims Insurance.
Mahen s/o Rasanayagam graduated from the University of Liverpool, United Kingdom, with a second class upper LL.B (Honours) degree in the year 2015 and obtained the Certificate in Legal Practice (CLP) the following year. Thereafter, he commenced his pupillage and read in the Chambers of our Ms. Jasvindar Kaur. On 05th January 2018, he was admitted as an Advocate and Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya. He has since been retained as an Associate and practices in the Insurance Litigation Department.
Alvin obtained the LL.B(Hons) from Northumbria University in 2015. He was admitted as a Barrister of Lincolns Inn in 2017. He was also awarded a Certificate of Achievement on Contract Law from Harvard University. He then completed his pupillage at Messrs Jeff Leong, Poon & Wong and on August 2018, he was admitted and enrolled as an Advocate and Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya. He joined this firm as an Associate in February 2019 and is currently practising in the area of Insurance, Takaful and Re-Takaful Litigation.
Jeremy graduated from Cardiff University, United Kingdom with an LL.B (Hons) and subsequently obtained the Certificate in Legal Practice in July 2017. Thereafter, he commenced his pupillage under our Mr. Balakumar s/o Balasundram and was admitted as an Advocate & Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya in August 2019. He has since been retained as an Associate and practices in the area of Insurance, Reinsurance and Re-Takaful Litigation.
Tan Pui Yi graduated from University of Leeds, United Kingdom with LLB (Hons) in 2016 and completed her Certificate in Legal Practice in 2018. Thereafter she commenced her pupilage under our Mr T Tharumarajah and was admitted as an Advocate & Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya on 28th August 2020. She was retained as an Associate in our firm and is currently practicing in the area of Medico Legal Litigation.
Chris Lim holds a second-class upper LL.B. (Honours) degree from the University of Liverpool and a LL.M. degree from BPP University wherein he was awarded a Distinction. Upon completing his Bar Professional Training Course (BPTC) with a grade of Very Competent, he was admitted to the Bar of England and Wales by Middle Temple as a Barrister-at-Law. He then underwent his pupillage at Messrs. Sreenevasan Young under the tutelage of Mr. Conrad Young and was admitted as an Advocate and Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya on 15th May 2020.He is now practicing alongside Mr. Wong Hok Mun and Ms. Elaine Koh in the area of Banking & General Litigation.
Low Yee Leng graduated from University of Hull, United Kingdom with LLB (Hons) in July 2016. She subsequently obtained her Certificate in Legal Practice (CLP) in 2019. Thereafter, she commenced her pupilage under the tutelage of our Mr. Edmund Liew Yin Chiang. In December 2020, she was admitted and enrolled as an Advocate and Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya. She has since been retained as an Associate in our firm and is currently practicing in the area of Banking, Commercial, Corporate and Conveyancing.
Alvin Yap graduated from University of Hull with LL.B (Honours) in 2015. Upon completing his Certificate in Legal Practice, he commenced his pupilage at Messers. Khoo & Sidhu under the guidance of Mr Andrew Khoo Kok Tsan. He was retained as a Legal Assistant in the same firm upon being called to the Malaysian Bar in 2018. He joined Messers Azim Tunku Farik & Wong as an Associate in December 2020 and his current area of practice is Motor Claims Insurance.
Asha graduated from University of Reading, United Kingdom with an LL.B (Hons) (2nd Class Upper) in the year 2017 and subsequently was called to the Bar by the Honourable Society of Lincoln's Inn as a Barrister-at-Law in the year 2019. Thereafter, she commenced her pupillage under the tutelage of our Ms. Chithra Jeganathan and was admitted as an Advocate & Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya in February 2021. She has since been retained as an Associate and is currently practicing in the area of Insurance, Reinsurance and Re-Takaful Litigation.
Liaw graduated from The National University of Malaysia (UKM) with Bachelor of Law (Honours) in 2020. Thereafter, he commenced his pupillage under the tutelage of our Mr. Balakumar s/o Balasundram. In November 2021, he was admitted and enrolled as an Advocate & Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya. He has since been retained as an Associate in our firm and is currently practicing in the area of Insurance, Takaful, Reinsurance and Re-Takaful Litigation.
Leona graduated with a Second Class Upper LL.B (Hons) degree from the University of Reading, United Kingdom in 2015. She also holds a Master of Laws (LLM) from the University of Nottingham, United Kingdom, specialising in international commercial law including financial and monetary, competition and consumer protection law. She obtained her Certificate in Legal Practice (CLP) in 2017 and was called to the Malaysian Bar in March 2019. Prior to joining us, Leona completed her pupillage in the chambers of Messrs. Zul Rafique & Partners where she assisted with construction law, alternative dispute resolution matters and also other capacities including audit, compliance and legal. She joined this firm as an Associate in April 2022 and is currently practising in the area of conveyancing, corporate, banking and commercial.
